As part of Legal Piling’s commitment to complying with all intellectual property rights laws, Legal Piling respects the intellectual property rights of others. The owner or rights holder of any content on the Legal Piling Website (“Website Content”) should contact the Designated Agent by mail or email at the addresses set forth below if you believe that content violates their copyright. You may wish to consult an attorney before sending us to notice to determine your rights and legal obligations under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and other applicable laws. Neither this website nor any other part of it is intended to be a substitute for the advice of a licensed lawyer.

If you would like to file a notice regarding allegedly infringing material, please provide the following information:

  • It is important to provide sufficient details about the nature of the copyrighted work, or a representative list of such works, in the case of multiple alleged infringements. If possible, please include all the relevant information such as title(s), author(s), any copyright registration number(s) or URL(s);
  • You must provide us with a reasonable amount of information to enable us to identify and locate the material that is allegedly infringing your works (e.g., the name of the file or URL of the page containing the material);
  • Please provide us with your or your representative’s contact information so that we may be able to get in touch with you (e.g., name, address, telephone number, and email address);
  • If you have a good-faith belief that the material listed above in subparagraph 2 is not licensed to you by the copyright owner, its agent, or by law, you may make a statement to this effect;
  • Under penalty of perjury, you or your representative certify that the notification is accurate and that the owner of the copyright has authorized you to act on his behalf.
  • Electronic signatures should be signed by you or your representative.

In the event that Legal Piling receives a valid notice stating that the material on the Website is allegedly infringing, we will act promptly to remove the material in question or disable access to it on the Website. Additionally, we will make a good-faith effort to promptly notify the person who posted the content that a claim of infringement has been made and that the person may counter-notify.

Counter-Notification

We may take down material that you have posted to our Website, but you can file a counter-notification that includes the following information:

  • An identification of the material that has been removed or disabled, along with the location at which the material was found before it was removed or disabled;
  • You certify, under penalty of perjury, that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification;
  • Please provide your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address as well as the name and address of your representative;
  • A statement indicating that you consent to the jurisdiction of the court and that you are willing to accept service of process from the person who has provided notification in accordance with the DMCA, or an agent of such a person;
  • You or your representative must sign a physical or electronic copy of this form.

As soon as the DCMA receives a valid Counter-Notice, we will make a good-faith effort to provide a copy of the Counter-Notice to the person who filed the Notice and thereafter follow the procedures as outlined in the DCMA. If Legal Piling is sued for any further infringement on your website, you agree that Legal Piling will not be a party to any further dispute or lawsuit regarding the alleged infringement. Legal Piling will not be held liable for its actions in removing or replacing any content on the Website in response to a DMCA Notice or Counter-Notice to you or any other party.

If you intend to make any claim under the DMCA, Legal Piling does not act as your attorney, counsel, or advocate and does not undertake to adjudicate or decide any claim or defense against the DMCA. All communications you send us, including communications regarding claims or defenses under the DCMA, will be treated as non-confidential and non-privileged and may be shared by us in any context, as stated in the Terms of Use, into which this Statement is incorporated.
